According to last.fm's artist wiki, ZibraZibra play 'grimy poptastic technoir' music, and that's really pretty accurate. Their debut full length, 777, will be released on 7/07/07, obviously! And if you live in the Minneapolis area you can buy tickets to the release show also on 7/07/07 with Har Mar Superstar. After seeing two of their shows a few weekends ago in NYC I highly recommend doing everything in your power to see them live - hands down one of the best performances I've seen in the last year and easily one of the most enthusiastic responses I've ever seen from an NYC crowd. Also, as an added bonus, if you bring an iPod, internet or wi-fi capable device to the release show you will be able to download the album for free from a web address revealed solely at the show! Dan Deacon is getting massive praise from the indie world these days and rightfully so. Spiderman Of The Rings is a great synth/punk/freak/pop album, and those don't come around too often. So The Locust fell off my radar for some reason and this is sad. I've only seen them live once and it was an experience. The person I saw them with had never heard of them and she spent the whole time trying to figure out if they were actually playing songs or just sound checking for a really, really long time. Grant it they do spend a ridiculous amount of time tuning their instruments, so I can see how this would lead to the confusion. Regardless, they are awesome and somewhere along the line I completely missed that they signed to Anti (possibly the coolest label ever) and their songs got about 2 minutes longer. Enjoy these sound bursts.

The Teeth are a band from Philadelphia. They recently released a CD, You're My Lover Now, on Park The Van Records, home of Dr. Dog. Their songs are a nice combination of bluesy vocals and jangly pop tunes, akin to a lot of 60's UK acts, i.e. The Zombies, The Kinks, etc. Check out these songs.

His latest mix, Dirty South Dance, smashes together a slew of crunk/rap and electro tracks for a hip shaking good time. The CD's limited to 5,000 copies and Turntable Lab is restocking, but you can still grab one from FUSShop. I recommend doing so.When I was 13 I took my bar mitzvah money and bought myself some turntables and a mixer. I practiced for about 18 hours a day. Then I came out of my basement, packed my lunch and won a bunch of world championships. Joy! I formed a DJ crew called the Allies with Craze and friends. We toured the world for a while. I also founded Audio Research Records with my big brother and big homie Dave so that we could release music that we like. Next thing you know Kanye hired me as his DJ.
